Running With Purpose: Supporting Lewis Sealy’s 2,551-Mile Challenge

Running isn’t just about miles — it’s about meaning.

Lewis Sealy is taking on an incredible 2,551-mile challenge this football season to raise money for the Miscarriage Association, a charity close to his heart. We’re proud to support Lew on this journey — a true example of how powerful the running community can be.

Running With Purpose: Supporting Lewis Sealy’s 2,551-Mile Challenge

At Prerun, we believe that running is about more than pace, distance, or even performance. It’s about people, stories, and the community that grows when runners share their journeys.

Our recent blog about Andy Bradley reminded us of just how powerful it can be to highlight the individuals who make this community what it is. That’s why today, we’re proud to share the story of another runner whose journey deserves admiration: Lewis Sealy.

A Challenge Born on the Run

Lewis - or Lew, as many know him — first had the spark for his challenge while running with a friend who was completing 500 miles for 500 lives, an effort to raise awareness for suicide prevention. Inspired by that conversation, Lew began thinking about how he could combine his two passions: football and running.

What came next is remarkable. He mapped out the distance from Ashton Gate Stadium — home of his beloved Bristol City — to every away stadium “as the crow flies.” Added together, the total distance came to 2,551 miles (4,105 kilometres). Lew committed to running that entire distance over the course of the football season — just 266 days.

Running for the Miscarriage Association

Challenges of this scale aren’t just about the numbers. They’re about meaning.

Lew chose to dedicate his effort to the Miscarriage Association, a charity close to his heart. His family has faced the heartbreaking experience of miscarriage three times in recent years, and his challenge is a way of transforming personal pain into something positive — raising awareness, funds, and hope for others.

Every year in the UK, an estimated 250,000 pregnancies end through miscarriage, affecting around one in five women. The Miscarriage Association exists to inform, support, and advocate for everyone touched by this experience, ensuring they receive the understanding and care they need.

Strength in Community

What stands out most about Lew isn’t just his mileage target — it’s the way he shares his journey. His Instagram feed, @hybrid.athlete96 is full of raw reels and run stats, giving his community an honest look into the grind of training day after day. It’s that openness that makes his challenge so inspiring.

At Prerun, we’re honoured to support Lew through this incredible effort. His story is another reminder of why building a genuine community matters so much — because behind every mile there’s a person, a purpose, and often, something bigger than the run itself.

Final Word

Lew’s 2,551-mile challenge is a powerful example of how running can be more than sport — it can be a force for awareness, healing, and hope.

We admire his determination, and we’ll be with him every step of the way.
